Man, this last week went by fast.
It's crazy that it is 2012! I go home this year! AH! Where has the time flown to? Hawaii?
So I don't have very much to report to anyone this week. We're doing lots of finding! So that's fun! Tracting and tracting. But we're also seeing lots of less-actives, and that's a blessing. I love visiting with less-actives, and investigators because when I visit with those people I know that I have to be my best. I can't teach someone to pray if I don't pray, thus I can't testify of the blessings it brings. So I have to pray! That's why with this whole Book of Mormon thing Elder Tripp and I have been doing, in getting people to read the Book of Mormon more actively has helped me to make the Book of Mormon central to my studies. It has been amazing, and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. My testimony has only grown because of it.
Wednesday we went to a meeting with President Jergensen, that was for Trainers and their trainees. It was very good, but it took up our whole day! So we were in Davenport the whole day, but it was very good. I enjoyed it! It was a VERY long drive.
Friday was a very cool experience. We got to go with Elder and Sister Hawes and clean the Nauvoo Temple. It was so cool! Because we got to do a session before we cleaned too, and it was just nice to get to be in the temple for a good 3 hours straight. It's special because you know what you're cleaning, and wear your cleaning, and so as you clean you get to see different details about the Nauvoo temple that you don't normally see- but you also take extra care in your cleaning job, because you know you're cleaning the Lord's House. So you want to give Him the best work that you can. It was pretty awesome, and I will never forget that experience. I hope to do it again. I love the Nauvoo Temple. I'm a lucky guy.
On the way home from Nauvoo I got a phone call from the Branch President in Fairfield asking me to give a last minute talk on sunday. So I accepted. It was a sweet experience. In preparation, he told me that I could prepare a talk on anything I wanted. I told him I was going to talk on some sort of deep doctrine, but I was joking. Instead when I prepared, I felt like I should pray about what I need to teach the Branch about. I felt inspired to turn to the Christ-Like Attributes Chapter in Preach My Gospel and I flipped straight to the Patience segment. I instantly knew I needed to talk about patience. I thought that was funny, because if anybody knows me, they know that I have the patience of an Olog Hai. But it was a really good talk for me I think. I studied a long time, and I felt like I got what I needed to across. There was a sister who told me that the talk I gave, and that Sister Hawes gave both hit her really hard- so that was cool.
That basically sums up that awesome week. It's 2012 and I'm still in Fairfield. It's awesome!
Have a great week!
Love ya!
