Weekly Post - 5/2/2011

Well well well! If it isn't a crazy day!

This last week was full of lots of walking. And walking. And walking.... It wasn't fun.
In case you didn't know our church building is like... really far from where we live, and we had to walk to it on friday... and then we had to walk to it on saturday too! And back! My feet are so sore! Well they aren't really anymore, but still. Good thing I have a camelpak on me or I'd be dehydrated! My nose itches right now so I'm gonna take a few seconds to scratch it... ok I'm back.

So I wake up this morning and use the phoneline to check top stories in the news just for kicks (we do that once a month for kicks) and I find out Bin Laden was taken down? GREAT ODIN'S RAVEN! That's so cool! EPIC WIN! I did not expect that, I expected something lame like Obama being on SNL or some royal wedding.

So we had an investigator named Michael Hansen with a baptismal date last week, but this last week he told us that he was going home in a week because he is a student, so that was lame- but he's going to Nauvoo in a month for an internship, so that's cool? He can get in contact with the missionaries there, and be baptized by someone in our mission still! That'll count towards 500! HAHA!

So I found out there is a zoo in Bloomington, and it only costs $5 to get in for a adult, and it's apparently pretty good. So that's cool- I love zoos. Who can think of a better place than to go find things that are locked up and point fingers at them, and laugh?! Hmmmm... prison? Who cares! You get to see animals and watch them eat, bathe and poop! It's so stinky! I love it.

I also learned that Bloomington is a town that President Abraham Lincoln walked the streets of, and that it is actually the town that he began his planning for his presidential candidacy- so this is where that began I guess. also Steak and Shake, Beernuts and State Farm were founded in Bloomington. Cool town I do say.

There have been these weird bugs in our house lately, I think they are trying to get me. They look like earwigs, but they have like 10 legs that look like hairs. They are very ugly. But I kill them while screaming 'die you pagan demon!' so it's all good. I think they hate me...

The other day there was a crowd at our J-dub neighbors home, and we found out that her son commited suicide. So we had to go be nice to her; nah, in all honesty I love the lady to death, she's way sweet, and I feel way bad that that happened to her. She loved her son alot, and now in her book he's lost- so that must be pretty hard for her. Talk about pain? But it was a little awkward since we were surrounded by a ton of Jehovah's Witnesses who wanted to invite us to there church again, and I was like "uh, no thank you. I've been to your meetings. It's just like what we do every thursday, but worse." Thursdays are district meeting by the way, so those RM's out there who hopefully reading this might understand exactly what I mean! (BLAH!)

I just realized the guy next to me is no longer Elder Nay and is now a really old Asian. He's staring very intently at his screen.

So mother's day is next week. That kind of sucks! Because I get to talk to my family, which isn't what I want to do at all. Sike! I gotcha! And you can't say you knew I was joking because you couldn't hear the sound of my voice! Sucka! Elder Redder looks very nervous sitting next to this old Asian lady. But in all seriousness, I'm way excited. There, I said it.

Anyways, mormon.org is cool. You should check it out.

love ya all
